“Sapienza” University of Rome (UOR) is one of the largest and oldest universities in Italy. In the last fifty years it has provided more than twenty ministers to the Italian Government and several Nobel Prizes. It has established itself as one of the most prestigious academic institutions in science and technology in Europe. It is ranked amidst the first 30 world universities in Science compiled by The London Times. The team involves researchers affiliated to the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences in the Policlinico Umberto I, led by Prof. Paolo Emilio Puddu including 3 faculties, 3 postdocs and 4 PhD students or junior researchers or master students.
UOR will participate in the gathering of medical requirements in WP2 and the development of the HeartMan DSS in WP4. Under the guidance of the University of Ghent, it will also transplant the human-centred design to Rome. UOR will lead WP6 – the preparation of the trial protocol and the analysis of its results. It will also coordinate the patient recruitment and proof of concept trial in Rome. Finally, UOR will participate in dissemination activities in WP7 and to a small degree in exploitation in WP8.
